I’m not a fan of jumping right into a book that’s part of a series, mostly because it takes a few chapters to catch up on the characters and who belongs to who and so forth. I admit that I did have a bit of this for the first few chapters and felt that I was missing something by not reading the previous four books. I’ve missed four entire books! I fell in love with the characters by the end. The previous four have been added to my TBR and wish list. I would read any future work by Ryan.

Carter Jackson is riddled with guilt. A shell of his former self. He self medicates with womanizing something that’s just not him. Before he was a long term relationship type of guy–always trying to find his forever girl. One moment changed everything. To top it all off, everyone keeps calling him a hero for saving an adorable puppy–shirtless. Of course that crap ended up online and he’s an online star. None of it he deserves.
