Review and Giveaway: Layback by Jennifer Rebecca

Review A fast paced read with a lot of plot twists and subplot lines to follow. A ton of humor and sex. Numerous pop culture and ice skating references. Sofia Dubois’s dreams were shattered when her stepmother had her kidnapped and hit her leg with a crowbar–yeah just like Nancy Kerrigan style. Unlike Kerrigan, SofiaContinue reading “Review and Giveaway: Layback by Jennifer Rebecca”

Book Review: Team Player by Julianna Keyes

I’m not sure if this is the beginning of a series or not. It certainly has room to grow into one since the large majority of the minor characters are single. I would love to see each and everyone of their stories especially Connor, Denzel, and Allison’s. Allison is super scary to everyone at theContinue reading “Book Review: Team Player by Julianna Keyes”

Book Review: The Perfect Comeback by Kasey Shea

After reading the blurb and first few chapters, I was intrigued by the book but didn’t have high expectations. I’ve read a few romance novels with the nerd aspect–game developer, graphic artist, coplayer, etc. Mia is a highly dedicated cosplayer and zombie addict who also happens to work for EverSoft, a video gaming company. She’sContinue reading “Book Review: The Perfect Comeback by Kasey Shea”

Book Review and Excerpt: Only Work, No Play by Cora Reilly

Review This is the first time, I’ve read a story with rugby players in it or at least I think so.  Sometimes, it’s hard to keep track since I read a book a day for pleasure or review, and now I also beta read for authors too. I don’t read a lot of books thatContinue reading “Book Review and Excerpt: Only Work, No Play by Cora Reilly”

Book Review: Sidelined by Suzanne Baltsar

I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical during the first few chapters of this book. A female football coach in a high school? That’s pretty risque even for a liberal school district. As a teacher, I really don’t see a school district making that leap–not because a woman can’t coach football butContinue reading “Book Review: Sidelined by Suzanne Baltsar”

Book Review: Buried by Brenda Rothert

Derek Heaton is one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the NFL. He loves the outdoors which is why he bought a secluded cabin in northeastern Colorado. A gift to his father is adding an underground bunker–something his father has always wanted. The last thing he could ever imagine was being locked in it for months with four other people.

Erin Morrison is doing her uncle Cal a favor by delivering these groceries from our family farm, winery, and grocery store. What Cal didn’t know was that the delivery would be to the famous football player’s underground bunker. Had Cal known that he would have made the delivery himself since Erin has clausterphobia from incidents with her mother as a child. Those incidents lead Erin to living with her uncle, aunt, and their two sons. One thing Erin planned to do after completing her delivery was making the trek to Camp Caroline–a camp for kids who have suffered various forms of abuse. The camp teaches kids numerous outdoor activities including hiking. Being locked underground was more than difficult for Erin with her clausterphobia although she was able to overcome it–to a certain degree. The bunker is HUGE!! Derek had an indoor track.
